the guardian of the garden grave

romanticism implies poiesis, and poetic poiesis implies the absent. as death is the absolute and ultimate absence, thanatos is conjunct to eros in the garden which holds the grave, our own, that of human mortality. the guardian of the grave, the grave itself, repeats the original misfit of adam and eve, and disquiets the landscape by perpetuating their crime. obscene because haunted by death, pornographic because of the unspeakable promiscuity of the copulative two and transgressive because formal submission is forever dismissed, the guardian of the garden perverses in the most excessive of romanticisms, the phantasmic projection of our own death.
call it a pavilion.

excessive formalities

excessive architecture is XXX. it is to choke space over limits beyond the constructs of reason and the orders of humanity. an insult on normality and the common sense – intolerable they say! excessive architecture is by all means totally unjustifiable, a crime. horrific if you wish.

it's over-cooked architecture, over-architectural architecture, to the point it is sickening to write or draw it any longer. it is way past the point, a waste now. excessive architecture is completely counterproductive.

but it is also hysterically gay, inebriated by the juices of aesthetics and sedated by the hot vapours of hedonism. it is overweight, addicted to a different time, that sweetly overcoats it. it is space given to the lure and obscenity of form, over-formed by the sweat of spatial intercourse and visual debauchery. it is a show of spatialphilia, almost a sport, a ludic fallacy.

this is architectural fundamentalism! a militant disregard for the operational reality, the things it can be or do. it is arrogance to society, deafness to advice and indifference to collateral damage. that is the recipe, the form will follow.
